CAN (ON): Critically injured greenhouse worker recovering

A 20-year-old Chatham worker who was critically injured in a workplace accident at a greenhouse is getting better.

Officials at London Health Sciences Centre told Blackburn News that Natasha Smids is now listed in fair condition. The hospital defines “fair condition” as “vital signs are stable and within normal limits, the patient is conscious and comfortable, and indicators are favourable.”

She was in critical condition in an induced coma for a week following the industrial accident at a greenhouse in Chatham on January 6, 2020.
