Kazakhstan has a challenging climate for greenhouse construction. With hot summers and extremely cold winters, the country needs highly divergent technical capabilities. For this, the Kazakhs are increasingly looking to Dutch innovations in this area.

Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects just recently signed a cooperation agreement with ‘Eurasian Green Product LLP’. This is a state-of-the-art greenhouse project that will be built with the latest technologies.
Van der Hoeven is responsible for the entire design and the supply of materials. For example, the central heating installation for this specific project in Almaty is designed for the most extreme temperatures of -25 Celsius in winter.

The 130 employees at Van der Hoeven have a lot of experience with the challenging climate in Kazakhstan, although for this project the company also uses the systems of Priva, Svensson, Patron Agri Systems and Berg Hortimotive. Together, the companies ensure that the most advanced technologies will be applied.
Van der Hoeven will be fully responsible for the integration of the various systems. In the long term, the cooperation with Eurasian green product LLP will minimize the import and transport costs, a good prospect for this investment.

The project is a perfect example of cooperation between the Dutch and the Kazakh partners. The cooperation between Dutch companies and Kazakhstan received a great boost in 2019, certainly also thanks to the visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin, to the Netherlands.
On 30 October, during the 5th ‘Kazakhstan – The Dutch Business Forum’ in The Hague, various memorandums and collaborations were signed with Prime Minister Mark Rutte in attendance. In 2019, the Netherlands has already invested more than € 83 billion gross in Kazakhstan.
