The Mexican tomato export season to the US begins in Sinaloa

According to the manager of the Commission for Research and Defense of the Vegetables, IACHR, Mario Haroldo Robles Escalante, the strong export season to the United States began on the last week of December because of the delay in flowering in vegetable production due to weather problems in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

“Exports are about to generalize. Tomatoes were delayed, but some people have already begun to export them. Tomato exporters will be active next week,” he said.

The quality of the harvest is expected to start improving with the second cuts in the last week of December and in the first week of January, overcoming the decline caused by the high temperatures recorded in the region.
