Dutch companies visit Serbia for soft fruit trade mission

The Agriculture Team of the Dutch Embassy organized a trade mission in the soft fruit sector to Serbia in the third week of November. Eleven Dutch companies were part of this mission. The visit provided insights in - and overview of - this sector in Serbia.

The program consisted of series of meetings with relevant stakeholders (Chamber of Commerce of Serbia; Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia, Coops) as well as visits to berry farms.

Different scale of blueberry/raspberry and strawberry producers were visited. Also, different types of organizations were visited: from cooperatives, via contracted farmers to the big individual producers.

Companies were given the chance to explore the possibilities of establishing new cooperation and/or improve already good cooperation in this field. Quite few participants committed themselves to be part of the upcoming PIB project in Serbia in the same sector.
