Greenhouse tomato prices in Poland still on rising trend

Polish greenhouse farms continue to raise tomato prices almost daily, as reported by EastFruit project analysts. Moreover, the project experts say that the positive price trend in the Polish tomato market has been maintained for three consecutive weeks.

According to representatives of greenhouse farms, the volumes this week were very small and unstable. In view of this, the supply of tomatoes in the Polish market has been insufficient, as the demand has remained stable. Given the above factors, tomato traders have again got the opportunity to increase prices. Today, these products are offered for sale at a price of $ 1.27-1.40 / kg, which is on average 9% more expensive than at the end of the previous working week.

It is worth adding that, under the current conditions, Polish tomato producers are managing to sell for a price that is, on average, 1.8 times more expensive than in the same period of the previous year. Industry experts do not rule out further price increases in this segment, as most Polish growers have already announced the imminent end of the greenhouse tomato marketing season.
