CASI and Vilmorin: a taste revolution with Rebelión tomatoes

This campaign, the Cooperativa Agraria y Ganadera San Isidro (CASI) has strengthened its commitment to flavor with its wide range of tomatoes. The ribbed ones are the most important in this regard. CASI has green, red, black and pink tomatoes of this type, adapted to the tastes and needs of all its customers and consumers.

Vilmorin and CASI: exclusive agreement for Europe and three campaigns
As part of its commercial strategy, the cooperative has decided to go one step further with one of the best-established tomato varieties: the Rebelión, of the Vilmorin seed company. Both parties have signed an exclusivity agreement for Europe for the next three campaigns, so the production and marketing of this product will be entirely in the hands of the Almeria-based cooperative.

The Cooperative has more than 70 hectares devoted to the product this season, rating the variety as a valuable tomato for producers, customers and consumers. During the last edition of Fruit Attraction, CASI and Vilmorin publicly staged this agreement. This was carried out by the president of the Cooperative, Miguel Vargas, and the general director of the seed developer, Fabián Fuffaut. Vargas said that it is "a very important agreement for us, since it will allow us to differentiate ourselves as the leading international supplier of this tomato variety."

"Long life" tomato that is ideal for export
This intense red-colored fruit is highly popular in the international markets and is also increasingly in demand within Spain. It is a tasty, aromatic and very attractive-looking tomato. Rebelión is a "long life" variety, which allows the consumer to enjoy it for longer than other similar varieties. It has a surprising firmness, which helps improve the shelf life. That is why it is ideal for export. Its flesh is fleshy and juicy, which gives it a very pleasant texture.

CASI sells the Rebelión tomatoes under the REBEL brand and the slogan ‘Revolution of Flavor’.

The product is available in a 60x40x9 cm trays weighing 6 kilos, a 40x30x14.5 cm container weighing 6 kilos, and a 50x30x9 cm tray weighing 4.5 kilos.

This year, a new 3 kilo format (40x30x9 cm) is being introduced. The most important markets are France, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and Germany.
