Spain exports record-breaking volume of cucumbers: 675 million kilos

This campaign, Spain has exported the largest volume of cucumbers ever. From August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019, a total of 675.06 million kilos have been shipped; 32 million kilos more than in the previous season, in which 643.07 million were exported, which entailed an increase of 4.97%.

The turnover has also grown by 39.7 million Euro, which is a 7.15% increase. The total stands at 594.59 million Euro, compared to the 554.89 million of the 2017/2018 campaign.

This increase in turnover has been obtained by exporting a greater volume of cucumbers, but also thanks to a recovery in the average price at which they are sold, which has increased by 2.08% compared to the previous campaign. It has gone from € 0.863 / kg in the 2017/2018 campaign to € 0.881 / kg in the latest season.
