Exports of cucumbers from Armenia see growth of 174%

At a press conference in Vanadzor, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the changes that have taken place in the agricultural sector in the first 8 months of 2019 compared to the previous year.

The PM said the space of greenhouses increased by 48% or 426.2 hectares, the area of drip irrigation lands increased by 56% or 1004.5 hectares.

According to armenpress.am, he also stated: “As a concrete expression of these trends, I want to state that the export figures of several goods in greenhouses or non-traditional agricultural conditions recorded a major growth. The export growth of cucumbers comprised 174%, that of mushrooms 202%, and that of strawberries 184%.”
