The Almeria-based cooperative CASI has hired Francisco López, until now vice president of Agroponiente and general director of Vegacañada, to run its facilities at CASI Aeropuerto. With this incorporation, the cooperative chaired by Miguel Vargas and managed by Antonio Domene wants to strengthen its management team and turn the airport center into one of the most important for the company.
Francisco López has held various management positions at Agroponiente for 16 years. At the beginning of this year, the Abac investment fund acquired the majority of Agroponiente's shares. The operation was completed with the addition of the Lara Castañeda company, based in Santa María del Águila, jointly managed until then by Diego Amat and Antonio Lara.
Last June, Agroponiente appointed Jorge Reig as the group's new general director, thus culminating the transition process that started in February with the entry of Abac Solutions.
Francisco López thus closes a stage in his professional life during which he played a major role in the consolidation of Vegacañada. Now CASI will be the one benefiting from López's experience in the tomato segment after years of marketing and sales contacts with the main distribution chains.
