Mexico: Authorities seize 4 tons of marijuana smuggled in chilis

Border Patrol agents have seized nearly four tons of marijuana that were hidden in a cargo of jalapeno peppers being shipped from Mexico to the United States. The drug was found on a routine inspection of a truck at the Otay Mesa border crossing in California.

Inside, authorities found more than 300 packages of marijuana, worth nearly 2.3 million dollars.

Through a statement, the director of the port of Otay Mesa, Rosa Hernández, said she was proud of the seizure.
