As of next Wednesday, Michael Seidl will be offering Kulmbach Germany's largest unpackaged department in the local supermarket, with a total of 240 food items that are available in bulk. The 'packaging-free' products also include an extensive range of fruit and vegetables, reports the Kurier.
Most of the food in the unpackaged department is from organic producers, says Michael Seidl. "We are already working with an organic wholesaler who will then deliver these products to us in bags, for example."

Seidl offers eco-friendly cellulose bags for sale as well, which can also be disposed of on the compost heap and not just in the 'organics' bin. "But not everything is feasible yet. Of course, I can only take things into the range, while I also get products with minimal packaging material. Anyway, it is the customer who decides whether such things as this unpackaged department will last. "
