"We are very excited by the possible opportunities in the Asian market"

UK company Marco have had their own stand at Asia Fruit Logistica since 2016. This year will be the first year that they take part as a co-exhibitor, participating as part of the UK Pavilion.

"We believe that co-exhibiting at events such as this can actually bring huge benefits in terms of increased foot traffic and promotion," said Murray Hilborne, MARCO Group CEO. "As part of the UK pavilion we hope to attract a wide and varied audience, as it was a great year for UK fresh produce. We also have strong relationships with some of our co-exhibitors, such as Richard Hochfeld, which should make the event very enjoyable!"

MARCO specialises in systems to improve productivity and reduce waste in the packing line. One of these is the Trac-IT Quality Control Module (QCM) which is a handheld system that allows businesses to regulate and automate quality control procedures across all areas of production. It works via a touchscreen QC Tablet. These tablets are used by operators to perform structured quality checks, often in the form of a questionnaire. Results, including images taken on the tablet, can then be instantly recorded, stored, and distributed electronically.

The system provides full supply chain traceability whilst monitoring and improving operator performance it also eliminates paperwork.

"Arguably our best-selling system, which we will again be promoting at Asia Fruit Logistica, is our Trac-IT Yield Control Module (YCM). This system has a proven history of increasing productivity within fresh produce packing operations by an average of 30%. It combines the use of our high-accuracy weighing stations and also our automatic-optimisation software. This software constantly adjusts the target weights for each operator in real-time, ensuring giveaway is virtually eradicated for the entire packing line and pre-determined pack weights are always met.

MARCO have completed installations in 43 countries around the world including India, China, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.

"As with any company looking towards the Asian markets, China and India are certainly both exciting areas for us in terms of growth.," explains Murray. "The scale of the packing operations in these countries is huge, and therefore the savings from increased productivity and line speeds can be substantial. In addition, Asia Fruit Logistica also gives us a great opportunity to catch up with our friends and clients in Australia which has been a strong region for us in recent years."

All of MARCO's solutions are language transparent and easily integrate into any new market place. "We are very excited by the possible opportunities for MARCO in the Asian market place and Asia Fruit Logistica is now seen as a permanent fixture in our efforts to capitalise on this vast prospective market.

MARCO will be in Hall 3 stand W02
