Applications open for 2020 Nuffield International Farming Scholarships

Nuffield International Farming Scholars announces the application for 2020 scholarships is now open, and farmers and agricultural professionals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Prospective Nuffield International Farming Scholars are people in agriculture with a desire to explore the global industry and find new best practices and insight they can bring back home with them. Nuffield Scholars are typically between the ages of 25 and 45, with direct engagement in the agriculture industry.

Applications for the 2020 program are due by 30 September 2019. In-person interviews will take place in locations around the world between late October and early November. Selected Nuffield International Scholars will be announced in December 2019.

Upon selection, Nuffield International Scholars will travel the world, participating in both large and small group study tours along with individual research experiences linked to their pre-selected study topic.

The Nuffield International scholarship experience begins in March 2020, with participation in the one-week Nuffield International Contemporary Scholars Conference (CSC), to be held in Australia. From there, Nuffield International Scholars undertake a six-week small group travel program, called the Global Focus Program, in either March/April or June/July (2020).

Each Nuffield Scholar also completes a further eight weeks of travel focused on their individual study topic, investigating a contemporary topic in agriculture that is relevant and meaningful to them. A culminating report is submitted by each Nuffield Scholar, giving them an opportunity to contribute to the support of other agriculturalists by sharing what they have learned.
