Russia: 12 ha greenhouse in Komi nears completion

The deputy head of the government of the Komi Republic, the minister of agriculture and consumer market, Mr. Anatoliy Knyazev, has conducted an offsite meeting on carrying over the investment project on constructing the greenhouse complex Sosnogorsky.

“The main cycle of construction of the major regional greenhouse of the fifth generation has been completed. All the required infrastructure has been created. Electricity, water and gas supply have been arranged, the access road has been constructed. We have the landscaping works left to do”, noted Mr. Knyazev.

The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Komi Republic reported that the startup and adjustment operations of engineering and communication systems are being conducted as well as test seeding. The recruitment process is underway, 162 candidates have been selected, 54 of them have had a retraining program and 30 have been employed.

The overall acreage of the greenhouse complex will amount to 12.6 ha, the investments will reach 51 million euros. The production capacity should reach 10 thousand tons of vegetables a year. 250 new working places will appear.
