On June 16-20, 2019, greenhouse horticulture scientists gathered in Angers, France to attend the GreenSys International Facility Horticulture Conference.

The five-day conference included a three-day academic forum, a one-day technical forum and a one-day professional visit. The conference consisted of 25 topics, 127 reports, 215 wall posters, and more than 600 experts and scholars from more than 40 countries and regions attended the conference. Among them, nearly 40 Chinese scholars were present.

The main topics of the conference:

  1. Greenhouse design and systems;
  2. Environmental control and models;
  3. Plant production, plant protection and quality;
  4. Crop model and management;
  5. Covering materials;
  6. Light technology;
  7. Water and fertilizer and substrate;
  8. Plant factory;
  9. Automation, robots and sensors;

One of the hot spots to watch out for is how to use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to effectively regulate and control the environment in greenhouses, including plant factories.

Horti China is a partner and supporter of this conference. At this year's International Facilities Horticulture Conference, Horti China has received the attention of international experts and companies. In recent years, China's facilities and horticultural production have developed rapidly and the management level has gradually increased. Especially in recent years, many large projects have been planted in various parts of China for vegetable production. China has a large demand for professional information and products including new technologies, new knowledge, and management experience. The 2019 Horti China will be held in Qingdao, Shandong on September 19-21. Shandong Province is China's main facility for horticultural vegetable production. It is the earliest and most important demonstration and application area for facility horticultural technology. The exhibition exhibits include: greenhouse technology, environmental control, water and fertilizer, smart agriculture, bio-fertilizer, substrate, horticultural materials, etc., and held several professional greenhouse horticultural technology forums and the International Peat Society Research Association.
