The appointment of Jorge Reig as the new General Director of Agroponiente completes the group's transition process, which started last February, when the Abac Solutions investment fund became a shareholder. During the transition, led by Miguel López, the subsidiaries Vegacañada and Lara Castañeda have been integrated into the Agroponiente Group, and a significant part of the company's shares has been transferred without any disruptions. Now, López will continue contributing with the knowledge gained as vice president of the group and member of the Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the group, Jorge Reig, who has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Alicante, an MBA from the European University and has been in a Senior Management Program (AMP) from the Business Institute, was general director of Agromediterránea (GAC) and of Grupo G's. He has more than 20 years of experience in the horticultural sector. "I accept this huge challenge with the hope of helping in the further growth of this industry, which I am passionate about. The goal is to turn Grupo Agroponiente into a leading name in the European fruit and vegetable business, prioritizing product quality and excellence in the service to both customers and producers," he said.
For his part, Miguel López pointed out that "the time has come to shake things up a bit in the organization, so that we can continue to grow with fresh ideas and external talent in an increasingly competitive market, without abandoning our roots and always thinking about how to offer more value to our agricultural producers."
