An innovative global approach for biocontrol in soft fruits

Bioline Agrosciences has been working with growers and industry stakeholders throughout the world for many years to develop bespoke crop programs for use around the world, and innovative and unique products to use in these programs.

Here are their latest easy to use biocontrol solutions for growers:

  • Bugline is a patented application system for Amblyseius type mites such as cucumeris and montdorensis which can be easily applied in crops growing in rows like strawberries. Ease of application and removal from the crop make this a highly economical product form.
  • Bioline dispensers for Trichogramma species are also patented. They have been specifically created to be easy and cost effective to apply. They are designed to give a continuous release of the Trichogramma for 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the beneficial applied. Their application only needs to be made periodically, making the program manageable from the perspective of time and costs.
  • Blisters like Phytoline allow easy application of Phytoseiulus mites with fast release and no carrier on the crop. This has been adapted for crops that can’t contain any residue at all, especially at the end of their cycle.
  • Capsules is another easy way to apply beneficials, and also a highly innovative release system for Trichogramma species. The capsules can be broadcast over the crop with drones and will give slow release of the insects inside.

The majority of these innovative application methods are adapted to soft fruit production in order to simplify the growers’ work keeping a high level of efficiency in term of fight against pests.

“Bugline” is one of their latest innovation to control thrips in strawberries.
