Fennel and celery are performing well in the Italian company of Fellini Patrizio

The fennel grown in Romagna is entering its full production phase. The company "Fellini Patrizio" has a big advantage: thanks to the farm "67", the company produces fennel and vegetables, just two kilometres from the processing plant.

Emile Fellini: "This allows us to have a product always fresh, processed a few minutes after harvesting. In literally 12-24 hours, the product passes from the field to the large-scale retail trade. This is also possible thanks to our several refrigerated vehicles that guarantee the respect of the times".

It is no coincidence that the brand that has made the Romagna-based company famous in Italy and elsewhere is "Freschissimi" (very fresh): a word that reflects a reality, the advantage of producing and packaging in a short period of time.

"Fellini Patrizio" has the fennel reference all year round. From a market point of view, it supplies Italian large-scale distribution, any distributor who requests it and also foreign customers, for example in Denmark, France and Germany. The quality at the moment is good and the prices average.

Celery production has just started in Emilia Romagna. The quality is very good and this is the first product after a vacuum that lasted a few weeks, caused by the climate. The weather, in general, is creating a lot of issues to all companies in the sector, with rains and often hail scattered throughout Italy.

A few weeks ago, the company brought an innovation about celery: "If the QR code is not new, the application with an elastic band differs from other types of packaging. Among other things, thanks to this novelty, the consumer can read a lot of information while buying a product without packaging and this goes in the direction of environmental respect and sustainable production throughout the supply chain.
