First harvest of Swedish pak choi

The first harvest of pak choi has started at HD Odling in Blekinge, the first conventional grower that works in large scale cultivation of pak choi in Sweden.

Pak choi is a crispy and tasty cabbage, originally from Asia. The vegetable is commonly used in the Eastern cuisine. Pak choi only arrived in Europe in the 80's. It is now a staple in many Swedish supermarkets.

Håkan Danielsson of HD Odling is positive about the first pak choi harvest. Despite the varied weather conditions with early heat in April and a cold period with night frost in May, the vegetable has kept well.

HD Odling is connected to SydGrönt, a cooperation with around seventy growers in the south of Sweden. SydGrönt is the largest supplier of Swedish fruit and vegetables. The cooperation has quality and sustainability as top priorities and all products consist of Swedish quality brand IP Sigill.
