Pieter van Gog recently announced to the family and management of Van Gog Kwekerijen in the Netherlands and Wittenberg Gemüse GmbH in Germany that he has decided to step down as a shareholder and member of the board.
Last year, Van Gog Kwekerijen celebrated its 50th anniversary. After Pieter, Marion and Johan joined their parents’ company in the late 1980s, the size increased sharply to the current state. Since the late 1990s, the company has been run by Pieter van Gog and his sister Marion van Gog.
Wittenberg Gemüse is a company that was founded by Pieter van Gog, Marion van Gog and Wichard Schrieks. Preparations began in 2008 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. The first phase started operating in 2014 and the third phase is currently being realized. Wittenberg Gemüse has quickly developed into an important market player with its own sales channels aimed at delivering high-quality products.
At the end of 2018, Pieter van Gog made an important decision for himself and for the companies, Van Gog Kwekerijen and Wittenberg Gemüse. He has decided, entirely on personal grounds, to withdraw completely from the companies. Pieter van Gog was an important pillar in the development of the companies during the past years.
The management and organizations announced "that they are grateful to him and respect his decision and wish him and his family all the best in the future."
Van Gog Nurseries will be continued by Marion van Gog together with the management. Wittenberg Gemüse is going to be continued by Marion van Gog and Wichard Schrieks together with the management.
