International vegetable breeding company Rijk Zwaan will be exhibiting at GreenTech for the first time ever this year. The theme of this year’s trade show, which is being held in Amsterdam from 11-13 June, is ‘Solutions for horticultural projects – top-quality seeds and high-level services’.
High-level services
GreenTech is an interesting event for international investors in the high-tech greenhouse industry. The sector is regarded as increasingly appealing because high-tech greenhouses are an efficient and sustainable way of producing food. Rijk Zwaan can make a key contribution to large-scale projects, according to Jan-Willem Cirkel, Manager of Horticultural Projects at the company: “Rijk Zwaan is based in 30 countries. Our in-house experts provide high-level services related to crop advice, chain management and market intelligence. Our network is extremely beneficial for newcomers to the industry because we know international suppliers to the horticultural sector as well as local players. That’s why we will be exhibiting alongside the technology companies at GreenTech; we help them to provide total solutions. We encourage trade show visitors to come and get to know us better.”
Top-quality seeds
First and foremost, in line with the event’s theme, Rijk Zwaan offers a very broad range of vegetable seeds. At its stand, the vegetable breeding company will be displaying varieties for the production of crops including tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Varieties such as Brioso RZ and Trovanzo RZ minimise the risks of a poor harvest, thus guaranteeing a good yield. Also in the spotlight on the stand will be the company’s lettuce varieties that are suitable for hydroponics.
