After the launch of the African Association for Vertical Farming that occurred in Johannesburg, South Africa on April 9-11, 2019, the AAVF announces the appointment of its new Vice-President, Mrs. Veronica Shangali Aswani.
Mrs. Veronica Shangali Aswani is also the Co-founder and CEO of WavuNow, a social enterprise that seeks to sustainably fight poverty by connecting disadvantaged and/or underprivileged Agri businesses to global markets by providing business skills training and connecting potential funding opportunities. Wavunow is also the AAVF Official Representative in South Africa.
For over 13 years, Veronica has worked in the Automobile Commodities and Property industries in East and South Africa. She then co-founded WavuNow in 2013 and developed the company from concept to a fully functioning business setting up all the necessary structures and networks.
Veronica has a degree in BSc Business Administration where she graduated Cum Laude and was also on the Deans List as an MBA student.
Veronica is passionate about addressing societal imbalances through economic participation by community members. She is a strong believer of ‘earning a living’ as opposed to entitlement and/or creating a culture of dependency at the Base of the Pyramid.
