FreshTeq China signs partnership for Sino-Dutch Agro Park development in Taizhou

On Tuesday April 23, a delegation from the Hailing District Government visited the FreshTeq China partners to kick-off the Taizhou Sino Dutch Precision Agricultural Economic Park Project. In this project, Chinese authorities, HX and the Dutch business development and innovation consortium FreshTeq China will invest together to accelerate the development of new generation of fresh food production chains in China.

The Hailing District Government of Taizhou and HX, the Sino-Dutch agro project development company, signed an investment cooperation framework agreement recently. HX has chosen FreshTeq China as its partner to realize 42 hectare of high-tech greenhouses at the Hailing Modern Agricultural Industry Park in Hailing, Taizhou. In this project, FreshTeq China will team up with other suppliers, such as Rijk Zwaan and Certhon. HX will also realise a future agricultural theme park, a precision agricultural planting area, the Holland countryside windmill village and a Holland style leisure street. After completion, the people of Hailing can enjoy the Dutch scenery, enjoy the Dutch atmosphere and enjoy tulips and Dutch vegetable salads. "The investors’ goal is to build the Sino-Dutch Precision Agro-Economic Park project in Taizhou into a 4S store in China, which is the first of its kind in China”, a representative of the delegation said.

During the visit to the Netherlands the Chinese delegation was introduced to horticultural suppliers and FreshTeq China members, Koppert Biological Systems, Ridder Group, Plantise, ABB and JBT/FTNON. The visit of the delegation was accompanied by the Mayor of Lansingerland, who expressed support of the innovative FreshTeq China consortium. This organization aims at developing international horticulture and sharing the well-known Dutch agri-food expertise abroad.

By bundling our joint expertise in greenhouse technology we can further reinforce the Chinese faith in the joint approach in Hailing which will not only bring a better local fresh food supply chain to the region, but will also bring considerable contribution to the local economy by creating an additional 30,000 jobs. At FreshTeq China, we commit ourselves to a successful integration of Sustainable Greenhouse Technology in China and with this FreshTeq initiative we demonstrate our active leadership in this field”.
