Lithium batteries now used in agriculture

The horticultural sector is adapting to respect the environment and contain energy consumption with an eye to efficiency and saving. With this purpose in mind, Bagioni is equipping various machines with lithium batteries. This innovation will be presented at Macfrut (hall B7 stand 48), especially for asparagus harvesters.

"We have filed for the patent in September 2018 and we have then added a charge indicator. Various companies have shown their interest, especially when it comes to asparagus harvesters," explains Aurenzo Bagioni.

"The patented system concerns voltage and amperage management to reduce ampere consumption and make sure agricultural equipment exploits all the advantages of lithium batteries, including: no maintenance, a weight three times lower than lead batteries, improved efficiency, 10-year duration, lower costs."

Batteries have a wide voltage range and reduce ampere consumption. They are made specifically for Bagioni Technology and need to be ordered in advance. This technology is very useful for those companies that have multiple machines and that spend a lot of time and money on lead battery maintenance. Lithium batteries need no maintenance nor particular checks.

"Previous lead machines can be updated, while the new ones can be equipped with the new kit right away. We have patented the regulation system because it is unique."
