Three months ago, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) shared the introduction of a Corporate Culture Award. The organization teamed up with Waterstone Human Capital to give CPMA members an opportunity to participate in their corporate culture exercise.
From all members who participated, Waterstone selected the company with the top culture and at last week’s CPMA convention, Canadawide was announced as the inaugural CPMA Corporate Culture Award winner.Canadawide's George Pitsikoulis receives the Corporate Culture Award from Barrie Carlyle of Waterstone Culture Dashboard.
“We were pleasantly surprised to learn that we are the Inaugural winners of the CPMA Corporate Culture Award,” says George Pitsikoulis with Canadawide. All CPMA members had an opportunity to participate in the survey. “When I received a link from Waterstone, I simply forwarded this link with confidential survey to the team and gave them an opportunity to participate,” Pitsikoulis added.
Extended family
The company does not have a formal culture program. “I believe our culture comes natural,” Pitsikoulis continued. “We are a family business and although we’ve grown over the years, we have continued to operate as a family business. We’re like an extended family that’s all in it together. I feel that’s how we differentiate and that’s what makes for a strong company culture.”
