Sunset® wins Best Organic Product at CPMA

Sunset ® Organic Angel Sweet® has won the Best Organic Product Award at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association Convention  and Tradeshow in Montreal, Canada.

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) kicked off its annual trade show this week. The show was held at Palais des Congrès in the old part of Montreal. Exhibitors as well as attendees enjoy traveling to the second oldest city in Canada with its little streets and great restaurants. More than 300 Canadian and international companies exhibit at the event.


There was a good atmosphere on the show floor with retailers, wholesalers and foodservice companies in attendance. About half of the exhibitors is Canadian, which means it’s also an important show for international companies. Outside Canada, exhibitors from the US, Mexico, Honduras, the UK, Belgium, and Egypt were present. “If you want to do business in Canada, you need to have a booth here,” a few US exhibitors said.

And then there are prices. Showcased in Sunset’s new backyard-compostable packaging, organic Angel Sweet® was one of 53 products to compete in the New product Showcase, which was judged by a panel of industry leaders.

“There has been tremendous customer and retailer response since we launched Organic Angel Sweet in 2018, and we’re honored to receive this recognition from our peers,” says Paul Mastronardi, President and CEO, and the fourth-generation family member to lead Mastronardi Produce.
