A partnership was established between Italian and French companies to improve the Italian industry tomato production and increase profit margins.
The partnership was set up by Timac Agro Italia (under French multinational Roullier), Consorzio agrario di Cremona and Consorzio Casalasco del pomodoro.
Thanks to the agreement, Timac Agro Italia will make the Rouiller research center available to the two consortia with the objective of improving yields and the quality of crops while respecting the environment and obtaining sustainable productions.
Consorzio Casalasco gathers 370 companies producing 550 thousand tons of fresh tomatoes every year. It is the largest industry tomato producer in Italy with brands such as Pomì and De Rica.
Timac Agro Italia is part of the Group Roullier holding, a French multinational operating in the fertilizer, food and animal husbandry supplement fields.
Roullier boasts over 8,000 employees and 70 facilities on an international level with a turnover of €3.2 billion a year.
