Prevent emissions when cleaning the cultivation gutter

When cleaning the cultivation gutter during the crop change, fertilizers and crop protection agents are set free again and are removed via the cleaning water. Cleaning products can ensure that the part of the water collected via the drainage channels is not suitable for reuse. Before discharge, the cleaning water must be purified from the cultivation gutters. The 'Cleaning cultivation gutter' (in Dutch) memorandum provides best practices for preventing emissions via this water flow.

The memorandum is part of the project 'Preventing and combating emissions from greenhouse horticulture'. Preventing the emission of crop protection agents and fertilizers to surface water is a top priority. In recent years much attention has been paid to keeping drain water in, now other water flows have also been examined.
