Some Russian entrepreneurs are currently visiting Italy, led by the intermediary Evgenia Kravchenko. The delegation visited asparagus producers in Veneto, in the province of Padua. Wednesday, March 6 they stopped at the "Bagioni Aurenzo" in Forlì, to understand how to mechanize production.
Visit to the company Bagioni Forlì
The delegation wants to create a corporate culture related to asparagus, so as not to leave anything to chance. The first step involves a hundred hectares and, for this reason, they want to know the best Italian realities in the sector to collaborate with.
"We are here because we want to grow asparagus on 100 hectares - said the Russian entrepreneur - We want to start growing green asparagus in southern Russia in 2020".
In Russia, asparagus is very appreciated in the market, but it is expensive because it is mostly imported. It often reaches €12/Kg, which is why they want to encourage local production.
The owner Aurenzo Bagioni showed all the machines available for the entire agricultural process. The delegation was satisfied above all by the fact that all the machines are electrically powered by battery, including lithium.
"We still have to decide what type of asparagus to grow and that is why we came to Italy. The latitude of our area is similar to that of Emilia Romagna and the climate is good enough, as we are between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. We believe we can do a good job".
