The demand of fresh produce has been rapidly growing in Qatar over the last years. As a response, Agrico built a 120,000 sqm organic farm in Al Khor, the first production of which was in May 2012. However, the company had to face a widespread lack of knowledge in terms of systems that would be suitable for the Qatar region. “That’s why we developed our own system”, the company explains. In the following video, we can see the innovative hydroponic organic system that Agrico came up with to overcome the farming difficulties of the Qatar climate. Although the video is mostly in Arabic, it is possible to see very clearly the different solutions and stratagems proposed by the company.
