On 17th January 2019, Vermillion Growers and the City of Dauphin signed a Development Agreement thus allowing the company to complete its permitting process. The construction of the new building should begin next Spring.

Furthermore, Vermillion Growers singed a partnership with MegaPhoton, a Chinese high-tech light bulb manufacturer. It will provide the new Vermillion Growers’ facility with light bulbs, allowing a 15% energy savings.

Vermillion Growers is a women-led, family run company located in the Manitoba area. The business carried out a crowdfunding campaign last year, which allowed it to collect the money to build the “Manitoba’s first large-scale greenhouse” for table tomatoes farming.
