Ethiopian trade fair HortiFlora Expo on course for March 13-15

Less than 2 months are left before the next edition of HortiFlora Expo will again take place in the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa. The last time it took place was in 2015, making it already 4 years ago since Ethiopian horticulture and floriculture could present itself in a specialized international trade fair in Ethiopia.

The interest has been rapidly growing in the last months and as a result more than 100 companies will participate. Besides a considerable number of companies from Ethiopia, also a great number of international companies have booked stand space. This has led to the careful first conclusion that trust in Ethiopian horticulture and floriculture, and consequently in investing in these sectors in Ethiopia, is growing.

Specialized trade fairs are a great thermometer for the state of the industry that they promote. Dick van Raamsdonk, spokesman of the fair, when asked about the outlook of the exhibition, said, “Having a ‘full-house’ with exhibitors already at this stage at this year’s HortiFlora is a good sign, and considerably increases chances for a successful trade fair”.
