Twenty years ago, fresh packs were inconceivable. People did grocery shopping at the supermarket. Times are, however, changing and offering added value is becoming increasingly important. The Dutch company, Scherpenhuizen, is responding to this with a wide range of fresh packs.
"These are global dishes that you can serve in no time at all. The recipes are clear and easy to prepare. The fresh packs also have the best flavors. This is thanks to the fresh ingredients that guarantee the dish will be 100% tasty. ", says Scherpenhuizen's Elske van Vuuren.
"Almost everything needed for the dish is included in the pack too. Currently, we have a fixed basic assortment. There are also different varieties that change with the season. Innovation is important."
Another new idea is the Wild Tomato Mixes. "These are available in 500g and 3.5 kg packs. They contain different varieties of tomatoes in various colors. Consumers are not yet familiar with some of these. These include varieties such as the Kumato. We have chosen to introduce people to the diversity of tomatoes", Elske explains.
