Positive outlook with Sapec Agro Business' new acquisitions

Organic growth and new products are generating profitability

SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS published its annual results in June 2018 with a sales record of €250M, a sustained growth compared to the previous year. SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS has two business areas: Crop Protection and Crop Nutrition, mainly represented by ASCENZA (formerly SAPEC AGRO) (phytosanitary products), TRADECORP (nutrients); IDAI NATURE (biopesticides) and SDP (adjuvants).

In addition, the group's EBITDA, which has reached € 53 million, had a notable increase, as it grew by more than 25% when compared to the previous year. This growth is practically organic, as the group's recent acquisitions were completed at the end of the year and they are expected to substantially promote the group's profitability in the future.

International markets, where the group has a strong presence, continue to provide opportunities for both crop protection and nutrition, especially in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia.

Eric van Innis, the CEO of the group, stated that "despite the difficulties, this year has been one of the most extraordinary in the group's history, as we've had a solid growth, high profitability, highly innovative product launches, and new synergistic and complementary acquisitions that, combined with each other, position SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS as a reference group in global crop management."

Brand renewal in crop protection - ASCENZA
Last November, the Crop Protection company announced the renewal of its main brand, SAPEC AGRO. ASCENZA, the new brand, is the result of a renewed positioning and image. ASCENZA reflects the commercial maturity of a company that has more than 50 years history and is ready to become a leader in the off patent sector in other markets.

A milestone in innovation: IsliFe 8.2
These remarkable figures are the result of the investment that SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS has made in research, development, and innovation for years. The group's efforts in innovation have resulted in the launch of a large number of differentiated products, specifically adapted to the needs of agricultural markets in more than 70 countries where the group is present.

Among others, the group launched in 2018 IsliFe 8.2, the first 8.2% biodegradable iron chelate that is stable under alkaline conditions. This new launch represents an important milestone in innovation because IsliFe 8.2 provides greater product efficiency while completely respecting the environment.

M&A in SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS: IDAI Nature and SDP
With the aim of increasing its global portfolio and strengthening its position in important markets, SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS recently completed the acquisition of two new companies: IDAI Nature, a unique biocontrol company based in Spain that proposes bio-pesticides without waste, and SDP, a company based in France and that has a global presence, which specializes in adjuvants and nutrition.

The group remains open to new acquisitions that can contribute to increase its product portfolio to provide new solutions to its customers.

SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS new model: Balanced Agriculture
SAPEC AGRO BUSINESS has proposed a new model, which they call Balanced Agriculture, to meet the growing need to maximize yields and crop quality, while complying with the increasingly demanding health and environmental requirements.

This new model offers an integrated crop management program that synergistically includes agrochemicals, adjuvants, precision bio-stimulants, specialized nutritional products, and natural bio pesticides that allow having a balanced use of agricultural inputs to optimize crop yields, while respecting the environment and health.
