In truck-load of green peppers

China: Wuhan police seize 150 kg of drugs

Tuesday, the Wuhan Public Security Bureau announced that the police of Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei Province, cracked a significant drug trafficking case near the end of 2018: A total of 150 kg of drugs were seized.

Police officials noticed a gang who were suspected of trans-provincial drug trafficking in September 2018. Insiders informed police on Dec. 26, 2018 that the gang were attempting to transport drugs from southwest China's Yunnan Province to Wuhan in the following days.

The gang used a truck loaded with green peppers to cover the drugs, which they intended to transport from Yunnan by way of neighboring Sichuan Province before arriving at Hubei.

The truck discharged the peppers in Sichuan and then continued to head for Wuhan with the vegetable baskets. The police seized the drugs from the truck in the woods near Wuhan and detained two suspects in a nearby hotel. According to globaltimes.cn, investigations are underway.
