NL: New pepper greenhouse to grow with residual heat

The expansion of 4Evergreen with 27 hectares of greenhouse for the cultivation of peppers is supported by WarmCO2 with the installation of a new residual heat and CO2 customer station in 2018 so that these greenhouses can also be provided with sustainable residual heat and CO2 extracted from fertilizer manufacturer Yara.

The connections on the plot were already provided during the installation of the sustainable heat and CO2 network. As a result, the works outside the building area are limited. The expansion also means that the further filling up of the Smitschorrepolder will start to become visible. In addition to the other planned expansions of the already established growers in the Smitschorrepolder, there is only 25 ha in the Autrichepolder (gross) land available for sale for new greenhouses. The connections for the distribution network are already provided on this plot as well.

Emissions 23,468 households
The activities of WarmCO2 at the construction site will start after the summer holiday of 2018 and will be completed within about 3 months. Subsequently, underground heat and CO2 pipes will be laid and above ground a CO2 and heat extraction station with corresponding equipment will be placed.

After the 1st phase (13.5 ha) of this expansion (end 2018), sustainable heat and reliable CO2 will be delivered to 110 ha. (net) and with this optimization of the sustainable energy will be realized.

Because of this expansion, WarmCO2 in total will conserve just as much CO2 as will be emitted by 23,468 households in 2019.
