Germencik area of Aydin grows with geothermal greenhouse investments

Two brothers in Germancik area of Aydin, a city located in southwestern Turkey, have set up tomato greenhouses with geothermal heating systems. Both brothers received government grants as part of the Food, Agriculture and Animal Breeding Ministry’s rural development support program. 

Annually 20 tons of tomatoes will be grown in the greenhouse. The opening ceremony of the greenhouse was also attended by the governor of Aydin who underlined the importance of utilizing the geothermal energy potential of the city for the local economy.
