Australia: Boomaroo Nurseries to build 14,000 m2 expansion

Boomaroo Nurseries applied to Toowoomba Regional Council in December to build a greenhouse, headhouse, office, tray shed, storage shed, and other infrastructure associated with intensive horticultural operations on land at 142 Harelmar Road, Southbrook.

The development application was approved by the council last week.

Just over five years ago, Boomaroo Nurseries started their expansion into Queensland, setting up a seedling holding pad at Drayton, with the intention of supplying growers from the Lockyer Valley and Stanthorpe regions as well as other Downs producers.

According to documents lodged with the council, the company said it would consider a future expansion of the Southbrook site, depending on the commercial success of the operation.
