In a little more than a month the 7th edition of the international horticulture trade fair 'HortiFlora Expo Ethiopia' will take place in Addis Ababa. The exhibition will be very well represented this year by the Ethiopian horticulture sector through the participation of all major Ethiopian growers. More than ever before this time the product profile will be, besides flowers, focused also on fruits and vegetables.
The fresh produce industry of Ethiopia has well ‘claimed’ its share of exhibit space this year. That will make this year’s fair of HortiFlora Expo Ethiopia a much more diversified event both in products as well in type of participating growers. The diversification in the product profile is therefore expected to attract the attention of not only fresh flower buyers but as well as of buyers of fresh produce. The mixing of floriculture and fresh produce on trade fairs is a trend that can be lately seen especially in the USA. One of the advantages of this development is that the mass market buyer can be served better as they can do their purchases in one visit instead of two.
