Belgians surprised by purple LED-lit sky

Also Belgian grower are enthusiastic about LED lighting. But lately we read some headlines about the purple radiation of LED lighting from Belgian horticultural companies in local newspapers.

"What is going on?" The Nieuwsblad news site enquired and readers are not very excited about it. "Pure light pollution" is the reaction of weatherwoman Jill Peeters on Twitter and to the Nieuwsblad. Also on Social Media the comments differ. "Light pollution. Can’t those people buy curtains for it?" is the reaction. Other comments are more positive. "How cool was that?" and "With LED, they save up to 75% of energy. Maybe we should also give them a compliment instead of always emphasizing the negative", and "I hope they'll do it again soon. It looked beautiful. A bit too obsessed about it Jill?"

In the Dutch Westland, the light radiation has more often led to questions. The purple sky is caused by a reflection of the LEDs on the clouds, which gives a special effect.
