Russian greenhouse construction projects: an update

Russian companies are investing in greenhouse construction once again. Here we'll highlight three new projects that are being added to an already impressive acreage.

Yugagroholding
In 2018, Yugagroholding intends to commission the 2nd stage of a greenhouse complex, 528m RUB [8.7 million USD] worth. The project is financed both out of equity and debt funds. The investment project provides for the construction of a greenhouse complex on an area of 5 ha. It is planned to cultivate up to 2.27k tonnes of tomatoes annually. The project will provide over 50 job opportunities. Geothermal heating system will be used for cultivation and heating of greenhouses. The products will be delivered to retail chains in Dagestan, North Caucasus and Russian regions. The greenhouse complex is included in the state support programme “Development of the North-Caucasian Federal District by 2025.” Total greenhouse area will amount to 20 ha, output – 10k tonnes of vegetables annually.

Beringovsky Priority Development Area
Sole owner Pavel Makatrov invests 1m RUB [16,000 USD] in the modernisation of a greenhouse complex in Anadyr within the Beringovsky Priority Development Area in the Chukotka Autonomous district.

The company plans to purchase a ventilation system for the cultivation of vegetables and lettuce. The system will also heat the greenhouse and provide UV disinfection.

Currently, the Chukotka Autonomous district depends on vegetable deliveries from the mainland.

Belaya Dacha
Approx. 90m RUB [1.5 million USD] were allocated for the greenhouse complex “Dolina Solntsa” in the Stavropol territory. General Director of Belaya Dacha Trading Anton Semenov: “Initiating the project, I considered its implementation without subsidies. As it turned out, the state support system does really work. We took out a loan, applied for interest rate reimbursement and obtained it. Now, we are going to apply for CAPEX reimbursement”.

Currently, the completion of the 1st construction stage is underway. The complex, covering the area of 15 ha will be used for year-round cultivation of tomatoes. The 1st stage construction of Dolina Ovoschey will amount to approx. 2.5bn RUB [41 million USD].
