Russia: Year-round strawberry greenhouses set up in Khabarovsk

A number of projects for year-round production of strawberries intended for export to the Far East regions were launched in the Khabarovsk region of Russia in 2017.

“Two projects are being implemented for the construction of greenhouses producing strawberries on an industrial scale,” the head of the Department for Modernization of Agro-Industrial Complex at the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alexander Rog-Kustov, told Interfax news agency.

According to him, at present, there are no such production facilities in the region. Strawberries are grown during the summer season only in farms and horticultural organizations, for personal consumption and small-scale sales.
