US politicians visit high school aquaponics lab

Congressman Pat Meehan, R-7, of Drexel Hill, and State Sen. Tom McGarrigle, R-26, of Springfield, took a look at what a $100,000 grant from State Farm Insurance will do for an innovative lab at Interboro High School.

The lawmakers, school district officials and State Farm representatives toured the burgeoning aquaponics lab at the high school Wednesday night before using the funds to more than double its operation to raise tilapia and grow produce to feed the local community.
