CAN (BC): Vertical Designs breaks ground on vertical strawberry farm
Vertical Designs has broken ground in Abbotsford, BC to begin construction of the first facility to mass produce local organic strawberries for Canada. The project is projected to take about 4 - 5 months to complete and have products on the local shelf in Vancouver this 2017 sold under the Eco-Spirit brand.
Vertical Designs has increased the size of the facility by 30 percent to accommodate 32 towers instead of the original 24 and includes a larger R&D section for testing other berry products.
Vertical Designs has also received Trade Mark protection in the USA for the brand and label Eco-Spirit. The label is First Nations inspired and represents clean earth products grown sustainably. The brand will be launched in Abbotsford, BC with strawberries in 2017 with plans to expand rapidly once phase one is complete.
"We look forward to working closely with Affinor Growers to showcase the technology and assist with many municipal and federal mandates to help drive change and lead the way into the new age of agriculture."
