Company capability assessment track for developing markets

BoP Innovation Center (BoP Inc) created a company capability assessment track for Dutch agribusinesses to succeed in developing markets. The capabilities are categorized in Resource, Processes and Values and represent several topics that are also relevant to contribute to the SDGs. BoP Inc developed this initiative in collaboration with the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP), and Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (CDI) / PPPLab.

The track will help Dutch agribusinesses to uncover the internal capabilities needed to become successful in dynamic developing markets. It will support the participating companies to get a better grip on and receive public recognition for their potential and ambition to develop business models including low-income people and to contribute to the SDGs. Furthermore, it will make the agribusinesses fit for public funding in PPP calls.

The company capability track consists of the following components:
  • Online quick scan with key company staff
  • Half a day internal workshop on capability needs
  • Company-specific report
  • Visibility in public report on overall insights
  • Networking event with like-minded agribusiness entrepreneurs
The first ten Dutch agribusinesses that sign up – before December 1, 2016 – will receive the capability track for the subsidized price of €1,000 instead of the real value of €4,000.
