CAN (LB): Agriculture minister supports student hydroponics project

The Minister of Fisheries and Agrifoods says government will explore further the potential of new award-winning hydroponic systems developed by Enactus, Memorial.

The team recently won the Enactus World Championships with their hydroponic system which will allow people to grow their own produce year-round, at a cost of just 30 cents a day.

Five residents are already using the system in Rigolet, Labrador with great success.

Minister Steve Crocker says the system could go a long way to improving the province's food security, especially in northern communities.
