Raspberry cultivars for container culture under high tunnels

Several newer raspberry cultivars are performing well growing in containers under high tunnels at the South West Michigan Research and Extension Center (SWMREC) in Benton Harbor. Clone 62, Kwali and Imara are three standouts. They are productive and fruit are attractive and flavorful. These plants are being grown in a bark/peat media in 3-gallon bag pots. Container culture is expensive, but may be appealing to growers with limited space marketing high quality fruit.
