Russia expects major investments in greenhouse industry

Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of Russia, expects the agriculture industry in the country to increase by a trillion RUB (16 billion USD) in 2020. This would bring the total investments in the industry to 1.5 trillion RUB (24 billion USD).

The investors are interested not only in livestock breeding, but also in greenhouse vegetable production. “In the 2 recent years alone we have selected and subsidized approximately 500 investment projects at almost 300 bln. RUB of credit funds," the minister said.

"According to experts’ estimates, as a result of the last year, investing in agriculture has turned out one of the most profitable investment projects."
