Marrone Bio's Majestene Bionematicide gets Agrow Award

Marrone Bio Innovations announced that its Majestene Bionematicide product has won the Biopesticide category in the 2016 Agrow Awards held in London.

The Agrow Awards features 14 categories in areas such as R&D, formulation, innovation, collaboration, marketing, business strategy and corporate responsibility. Winners are judged by an independent panel of industry experts. To be eligible for the awards, products were required to be formulated in a way that is acceptable to users and distributors, while also providing the ability to forge a path in a market dominated by synthetic chemicals.

“We are pleased and honored to have Majestene awarded Best New Biopesticide,” said Pam Marrone, CEO of MBI. “With MBI products Regalia and Grandevo being previous Agrow Award winners in the Best New Biopesticide category, this recognition of a third MBI product is a true testament to our success in bringing new agricultural innovations to market that help growers protect and improve their crop production. On behalf of everyone at MBI, I would like to thank the Agrow Awards team for their recognition and for their continued support in advancing awareness about biopesticides and their important role in agriculture.”

Tony Torres, Product Marketing Manager, Insecticides & Nematicides, added, “Receiving this award allows us to further demonstrate that Majestene provides value in the fight against nematodes, which are reported to cause $80 billion annually in global damage to crops. Farmers now have a unique tool to suppress nematodes and protect yield in a wide variety of crops, including: potatoes, strawberries, tomatoes, cotton, corn, soybeans and outside the US, bananas.”
