US: Fundraising strategies for farmers markets

Fundraising can sometimes be an overwhelming endeavor to take on. However for many markets, it’s a critical piece for sustaining operations.

The Farmers Market Fund and the Oregon State Farmers Market Association recently created a resource documenting fundraising strategies farmers markets have used to to raise money for their SNAP match programs. Although these ideas were originally implemented to raise funds for SNAP programming, they’re great for any reason a market seeks to pad its piggy bank.

From business sponsorships, to online campaigns, to events and raffles, there’s a bevy of ideas your market can use to inspire its next fundraising effort. Check out these strategies and start brainstorming.
